Dvořák + Mozart 4-EVR, or Upcoming Performances

My practice time the last couple weeks has been occupied by woodnymphery (Rusalka with North Carolina Opera, which is coming up Sunday 3/30) and the soprano solos from Mozart's Missa brevis in D, which I'll be singing with St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Raleigh on Easter Sunday.

I am happy as a clam. If I have to pick a favorite composer, it's Wolfie1 hands-down. Second-favorite would be a much harder decision, but Dvořák is comfortably in the running. Thankfully, in my current situation, the choice between simple Mozartean elegance and crunchy Dvořák-ian drama is not one I have to make.

I'm also dusting off the Polish-American program I've done with my mom several times before , which is really beautiful--Chopin, Gershwin, Kern, and if you come to our performance of it this Thursday in Winston-Salem, a SPECIAL SURPRISE RIDICULOUS ENCORE.

To review, if you're hoping to hear me sing soon:

Thursday 3/27, 7:30 PM, Polish and American Songs, Arbor Acres, Winston-Salem

Sunday 3/30, 3:00 PM, Rusalka (I'm in the chorus), Meymandi Concert Hall, Raleigh

Sunday 4/20, 11:00 AM, Missa brevis in D, St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Raleigh

Everybody have a great week!

1 I was looking for something good to which to hyperlink the word "Wolfie," but I have to embed this in the post to make sure you guys all watch it. All the way through, or at least to 1:36. Courtesy of the genius Anita Guerini.
